Qantas goes back in time with Retro Roo II

A year after painting one of its Boeing 737s with its classic 1970s logo, Qantas says a second plane will carry a so-called Retro Roo.

Qantas is now giving travellers two chances to fly back in time.

A year after painting one of its Boeing 737s with its classic 1970s logo, Qantas says a second plane will carry a so-called Retro Roo as part of the airline's 95th anniversary celebrations.

The livery for Retro Roo II will be chosen from the 12 that Qantas has had since 1920 and, after being applied to one of 67 737-800s undergoing refurbishment in Brisbane and Sydney, will travel between Australia and New Zealand.

"You can see from what's posted on social media that people enjoy taking photos of Retro Roo I as it travels to airports around Australia," Qantas brand, marketing and corporate affairs executive Olivia Wirth said.
