QBE in trading halt to finalise review

Shares in insurer QBE are in a trading halt while the company finalises a review of its North American operations.

The shares of QBE Insurance Group are in a trading halt while the company finalises a review of its North American operations and the impact on its financial results.

"The trading halt is requested in order to allow QBE time to finalise its analysis of information and review by the board, predominantly in relation to its North American operations, and the impact on QBE's forecast financial result for the year ending 31 December, 2013," QBE said in a statement to the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) on Friday.

The halt began at the start of trading on Friday, December 6 and will remain in place until an announcement to the market on Monday, December 9.

"QBE expects to complete its analysis and review and then issue a market release to ASX as well as hold an open investor conference call on Monday, 9 December 2013," QBE said.

QBE shares last traded at $15.45.
