Qld boy, 4, dies after being hit by ute

A young boy has died a day after being hit by a ute in Townsville.

The "heartbreaking" death of a "beautiful" four-year-old boy in a Queensland car park has filled Townsville residents with grief.

Debbie Anne Smith wrote on Facebook "This is truly heartbreaking, such an awful tragedy".

"He is such a beautiful little boy from a lovely family. All our love to you," Debbie wrote.

Rach Russell expressed her deepest condolences to the family on Facebook writing he was an "angel taken way too soon".

The four-year-old boy died in hospital a day after being hit by a ute in a ten-pin bowling car park.

The boy was leaving the venue with his family when he walked into the path of a ute in the Townsville suburb of Thuringowa on Wednesday.

He was taken to Townsville Hospital but died from his injuries on Thursday morning.
