Western Australia will take a 291-run lead into the final day of their Sheffield Shield clash against Queensland at Allan Border Field in Brisbane.
The Warriors were 6-153 at the conclusion of day three after Queensland boldly declared at 7-279, 138 runs behind WA's first innings total of 7-417.
Adam Voges (53) and Nathan Coulter-Nile (one) are still at the crease for the visitors, with Bulls skipper James Hopes believing WA are prepared to make a game of it.
"I think the way (Western Australia) played this afternoon they showed they do want to set us something," Hopes said.
Starting the day on 2-111, former Bulls quick Nathan Rimmington removed Peter Forrest (34) and Michael Philipson (three) within his first two overs before Chris Lynn (85) and Chris Hartley (69 not out) combined for a fifth-wicket partnership of 121 runs.
Lynn belted 13 fours and one six during his 152-ball knock, but after he was caught behind off the bowling of Coulter-Nile, the scoring slowed up for Queensland, with Hopes declaring shortly before the tea break.
"The whole idea (of the declaration) was once we started to lose a few wickets this morning, our goal was to get past the follow-on then pull out," he said.
Beginning their second innings after tea, WA put on 62 runs for the first wicket before Cameron Bancroft fell for 17 off the bowling of Jack Wildermuth.
The 21-year-old also removed Michael Klinger for six shortly afterwards, before ex-South Australian quickie Peter George claimed the prized scalps of Marcus Harris (51) and Shaun Marsh for one.
Two late wickets to Mark Steketee before stumps gave the Bulls further encouragement as they look to restrict the Warriors' lead.
"We need to keep the chase at a reasonable level," Hopes added.
"I think what we've done this afternoon, if we come out and bowl well in the first half-hour and get another couple of wickets then we are starting to dictate what we're chasing rather than waiting for them to declare."
