A six-year-old girl has suffered severe head injuries after being kicked by a horse in rural southeast Queensland.
The girl suffered deep cuts to her face from the kick about 6.30am on Friday at Goodger, south of Kingaroy, but had managed to run back into her home to alert family, according to paramedics.
She was airlifted by helicopter to Lady Cilento Children's Hospital where she was admitted to the emergency department in a serious but stable condition.
RACQ Careflight Service said the horse kicked her while she was tending to the animal.
