Queensland's government has moved to bring in harsher domestic violence laws 'to make sure perpetrators aware of the seriousness of their offending'.

Queensland's government has introduced new domestic violence laws to parliament.

Attorney-General Yvette D'Ath on Tuesday afternoon tabled a bill to slap harsher penalties on domestic violence offenders.

"We must make sure the perpetrators are aware of the seriousness of their offending," she told parliament.
