Qld govt pledges more money to save koalas

The RSCPA's Wacol wildlife centre has received more than $70,000 in the latest round of grants from the state government to protect and treat koalas.

The state government has pledged more than $70,000 to a Brisbane wildlife centre to help it treat sick and injured koalas.

Environment minister Dr Steven Miles will visit the RSPCA Wildlife Hospital at Wacol on Saturday after it received the $73,219 grant in the latest round of funding.

It comes after the Palaszczuk government announced in May all koalas across Queensland, and not just the southeast region, would be listed as a vulnerable species.
