Qld man dies after 'one-punch' attack

A 56-year-old man has died in hospital, three weeks after he was punched in the back of the head while walking along an Ipswich street.

A Queensland man punched in the back of the head in an unprovoked attack has died.

Lindsay Ede, 56, died in a palliative care unit on Wednesday, three weeks after he was assaulted while walking along a street at Goodna in Ipswich.

His alleged attacker Ariik Mayot, 19, has been charged with grievous bodily harm over the one-punch attack, but is now likely to face upgraded charges.
