A Queensland woman has died while being treated by paramedics for serious neck injuries at a home in Mackay.

Police are questioning a man after a woman died from serious neck injuries in north Queensland.

Police and emergency services were called to treat a woman with serious neck injuries a home on Ellul Court at Beaconsfield, near Mackay, on Friday night.

A 39-year-old woman died while paramedics were treating her and police are currently questioning a man about her death.
