Qld men storm shop with hammer, axe

A convenience store north of Brisbane has been robbed during the region's wild weather by two men who threatened employees using a hammer and an axe.

Two men have robbed a convenience store south of Brisbane using a hammer and an axe.

The pair threatened two male employees at the Forest Lake store during wild weather in southeast Queensland about 6.45pm on Friday.

The attendants were forced to the ground before the men made off with cigarettes and cash from the tills, police say.

A search is underway for the offenders.
