Qld Origin win special for Parker

Queensland veteran Corey Parker says the Maroons' State of Origin win in Sydney last month was one of the most special of his career.

He's won premierships, multiple State of Origin campaigns and a World Cup but Queensland's gutsy win over NSW last month is right up there for veteran Corey Parker.

After repelling multiple raids on their tryline in the scoreless second-half, the 34-year-old and his teammates roared in jubiliation when the 6-4 victory in this year's Origin opener was confirmed at ANZ Stadium.

Now the dust has settled, Parker says that victory was one of the best of his 15-year rugby league career.

"The longer time has been since the game I've had a bit more time to reflect on it and it's probably one of the greatest wins I've been a part of," Parker told AAP.

"Just in the sense of as a team we faced a hell of a lot of adversity and to come out the other side was very satisfying.

"The reality of it is though we're going to have to be a lot better game two because they're a great side, they're going to be better and we've got to be a lot better ourselves otherwise it'll be tough."

The Maroons head into camp knowing a win over the Blues at Suncorp Stadium next Wednesday will deliver them a 10th series victory in the past 11 years.

But Parker warns simply holding home advantage is no guarantee of success despite Queensland winning eight of the past 10 Origin matches at the venue including a 52-6 hiding in last year's series decider.

"We've got an opportunity to play a game here in Queensland and, as Queenslanders, that's exactly what you want to do," he said.

"We'll be doing everything we can to prepare the best way we can to make sure that next Wednesday we're right to go."
