A successful Queensland real estate agent facing drug trafficking charges kept his stash in a hidden compartment under his oven, a court has heard.
Former LJ Hooker agent Patrick Ryan McCann was granted bail in the Brisbane Supreme Court on Thursday after his arrest last month.
The Cleveland man is facing 34 drug-related charges, including trafficking, supplying and possessing methylamphetamine.
Police who raided his home on September 1 found a quantity of the drug along with scales and drug utensils hidden in a compartment under his oven.
Opposing bail, Crown Prosecutor Jacqueline Ball said McCann had admitted the drugs were his and that he supplied them to two associates over two years.
"He did stress it wasn't for financial gain, it was just helping out those associates by sourcing methylamphetamine and supplying to them," she told the court.
In court documents, police allege McCann had three regular customers who would come to his home, and nine sources from whom he would buy "half an eightball" of methylamphetamine for between $650 and $950.
Defence barrister Anthony Kimmins said if released his client would spend three weeks in rehab at the Currumbin Clinic on the Gold Coast.
In a previous bail application McCann denied he was addicted to drugs.
Mr Kimmins said the accused's parents, who were in court, had offered a $100,000 surety on behalf of their son, who promised to live with one of them and report three times weekly to police.
McCann's defence also submitted a sworn statement from a potential employer - who wasn't named in court - that said the real estate agent would be offered work if granted bail.
Justice Peter Flanagan decided the risk of McCann reoffending or fleeing was ameliorated by his undergoing rehab, the support of his parents and the requirement to report regularly to police.
Outside court defence lawyer Bill Potts said McCann had been co-operative with police and had "made full admissions with respect to his involvement" but would contest the drug trafficking charge.
