Queensland skipper Cameron Smith says he has no regrets over this year's State of Origin series, despite the Maroons putting in their best performance with the shield already heading to NSW.
Smith's men put on a display to remember as they ran in five tries to one to secure a 32-6 win over the Blues at Suncorp Stadium on Wednesday night.
After losing by four and two points respectively in the first two games of the series, the Maroons' performance was tinged with a feeling of what could have been.
Not that Smith, who racked up a record 20th Origin win, appeared to be too upset about opportunities missed.
"We've moved through that disappointment of losing the first two matches," Smith said.
"We've addressed what went wrong.
"Our first game, our execution with our set plays. Game two was really our execution in the second half, we just couldn't hold the ball. I thought we dominated game two in Sydney for 60 minutes and then we went away from our gameplan, dropped a bit of ball and invited NSW back into the game.
"There's no regret. We went through our disappointment. We spoke about it and moved on."
Maroons coach Mal Meninga said he never lost faith in his players and said Wednesday's win showed there was no need for Queensland to make huge alterations before next year's campaign.
Unlike his skipper though, he did concede Wednesday's victory came with a tinge of disappointment.
"Bit bittersweet, however I'm very proud and pleased of the way the guys played tonight," he said.
"We don't need to make any changes to be honest with you. Matty Scott was out tonight and Tatey (Brent Tate) as well.
"I don't know where Tatey is in his decision about what he wants to do with his future but obviously Matt Scott comes back into the footy team.
"I'm very happy with our players. They get on so well and we don't need to change anything in my opinion."
