Two teenagers have been charged with attempted murder after allegedly breaking into a Queensland home and stabbing a 16-year-old girl in the chest.

Police say the 19-year-old and 17-year-old, both female, broke into the home in Warner, north of Brisbane, in the early hours of Wednesday morning and stabbed the girl before fleeing.

They are both due to appear in the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on Saturday.

The 16-year-old remains in hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
