Three Queensland-based followers of Falun Gong who fled persecution in China are joining a deluge of fresh lawsuits against the country's former president.

Brisbane residents John Meng, David Yu and Xie Weiguo are preparing to this month join the thousands who have filed criminal complaints in China against former leader Jiang Zemin.

The trio are poised to submit a joint lawsuit to the Supreme People's Court in China in hopes of seeing Jiang prosecuted over the widespread persecution of millions of followers of the spiritual movement.
