A woman is set to face court accused of trying to kill two young boys in a house fire.
The 58-year-old woman faces a total of four counts of attempted murder involving two boys, aged nine and 11 who police allege were deliberately trapped in a fire at Morayfield, north of Brisbane, in early 2014.
The boys escaped but one suffered burns to his legs.
The woman on Tuesday was charged with two counts of attempted murder and one of attempted arson in relation to the blaze. She also faces two additional attempted murder charges stemming from other alleged incidents.
Police allege she tried to kill one of the boys on two separate occasions but they have not provided further details.
But the Courier-Mail says the charges relate to allegations she tried to suffocate the child as he lay in his bed.
It also reports the woman is the child's grandmother, but police have not confirmed that.
She also faces a charge of interfering with a corpse in relation to the death of a seven-month-old baby from the same family.
The woman is expected to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court via telephone on Wednesday.
