Qlders support lockout laws: poll

A new poll on Queensland's contentious lockout laws has once again indicated most people are in favour of the changes to tackle alcohol-fuelled violence.

The majority of Queenslanders want the government's contentious lockout laws to be passed in parliament, a new poll has found.

The Galaxy Poll, conducted for The Courier-Mail, found 57 per cent of those surveyed supported the legislation, which will be debated in parliament next week.

The laws, if successful, will ban shots after midnight and impose a 2am last drinks call statewide, but allows venues in entertainment precincts to apply for a 3am last drinks call if they combine it with a 1am lockout.
