The Queensland government has unveiled a $91 million plan to create 26,000 new training positions.

Premier Campbell Newman says the Jobs of Tomorrow plan will ensure young Queenslanders have the best education, skills and apprenticeships.

He says his election pledge will help create jobs by offering incentives to employers to take on new apprentices.

"We all know in the LNP team that real jobs are created by the private sector, particularly small- and medium-sized businesses," he told reporters in Brisbane.

Mr Newman pointed out that the difference between the LNP plan and Labor's past plans was that his government would assist actual employers in training young people, rather than a government agency.

HOW QUEENSLAND'S LNP WANTS TO CREATE 26,000 NEW TRAINING POSITIONS

- $36 million to give employers who take on a new apprentice $6000

- $30 million to create 11,500 additional training places for Queenslanders aged 15-24

- $10 million to provide employers in areas of high youth unemployment with $2500 to take on new cadets

- $15 million to provide additional training support to 4500 disadvantaged young people
