Queensland Liberal National Senator-elect James McGrath

James McGrath will be joining the Senate on July 1, two years after his failed bid to become a federal candidate.

SBS attempted to contact Queensland Liberal National Senator-elect several times via phone and email, but no response was received by time of publishing.

Mr McGrath has previously served as a campaign director for the Queensland Liberal National Party and the Northern Territory Country Liberals, as well as the Deputy Federal Director of the Liberal Party during the 2010 federal election.

Prior to working for the party, the Sunshine Coast based law graduate advised the British Conservative Party and worked as part of the campaign team that delivered Boris Johnson to the office of Mayor of London in 2008.

He had previously campaigned for a shot at politics, failing in a bid to become a federal candidate in 2012.
