Security footage has revealed intrepid Queenslanders using the state’s rail system to transport large household items.
In the first video, a man wheels a fridge on a small trolley at Brisbane’s Bowen Hills station.
After battling to get it to fit into the lift, he eventually pushes it out onto the platform before trying to load it onto the train.
But his success is short-lived, as he is swiftly removed along with a stern-faced Queensland Rail officer.
He received a $252 fine for his trouble.
A second video shows another man attempting a similar feat, this time with a couch.
Using an unusual technique of flipping the couch end over end,the man manages to get the unwieldy item into a station lift.
The tricky bit comes when the industrious commuter attempts to get the couch down a narrow corridor, blocking other peoples’ way as he hauls it onto a shopping trolley.
It's unclear what happened to the man and his prized possession.
Queensland Rail posted the footage on their Twitter account, asking people to “please book a removalist.”
The company's customer charter asks travellers to ensure their baggage weighs less than 20 kg, and said bags should be placed on people's laps or under the seat, so others can sit down.
Should people bring something onto a train that can't be placed under a seat, in an overhead rack or a storage area, commuters could receive a fine of around $250.
