Racist attack on car of refugees

The words "go home" and other obscenities have been scratched into the bonnet and sides of two cars owned by a family of refugees living in Melbourne.

A refugee family in Melbourne has had their cars scratched with racist comments and the words "go home".

The refugees from Bhutan were visiting a family member in hospital when vandals defaced the cars and slashed the tyres, which were parked outside their Melton West home.

"This is our home, we are citizens of this country and everyone has the right to live peacefully as a citizen of this country," the car owner told local paper the Leader.

Police say the victim doesn't believe he did anything to offend anyone and have called the racially motivated attack "extremely disappointing".
