Racist slur scrawled on Sydney restaurant

An attack on a Lebanese restaurant has left smashed windows and a racist message scratched into the glass.

A Sydney Lebanese restaurant has had its windows smashed and a message scratched into its glass in the latest of what its owner believes is a series of racist attacks.

Mohamad Zouhour, whose restaurant Arabella has been in Newtown for 14 years, told AAP he had been targeted in three previous incidents as well as receiving threatening phone calls.

"Of course, we get scared," Mr Zouhour said. "It makes me think about leaving this country."

In the latest incident Mr Zouhour said "F*** Arabs" had been etched into the glass.

He said he had no idea why he was being targeted beyond his race.

Police said a witness saw a man breaking the windows of the well known King St restaurant early on Tuesday morning.
