Semi Radradra's potential divorce from the NRL isn't necessarily about money, according to Parramatta club captain Tim Mannah.
While Eels players are expecting to see Radradra when they reconvene for training on Wednesday, his long-term future remains up in the air as he weighs up a lucrative offer from French rugby club Bordeaux.
However Mannah hinted that financial incentives wouldn't be Radradra's sole motivation for a possible exit.
"There's a lot of money getting thrown around there but I'm sure there's probably more to it than we know," said Mannah at a golf day with Eels sponsors in Cattai on Tuesday.
"It wouldn't be a case of just dollars and cents, there'd be more reasons for what's going on.
"But as far as him coming back to Parra, we expect him tomorrow. That hasn't really changed. We've just got to keep preparing for that and preparing for him to be in our team on Saturday night."
Mannah immediately reached out to Radradra when reports surfaced that the recent Kangaroos debutant had walked out on the club last week, but the club captain preferred their conversations remain private.
Mannah did say however that the NRL's never-used "war chest" may not even be enough to keep Radradra, who recently split with his partner, despite him having one year remaining on his current contract.
"I don't even know if there is that fund. It's a bit of a mythical fund at the moment," Mannah said.
"There's no point in us stressing about whether the funds come in or not.
"There's no reason to think he won't be back this week, so we'll just give him the benefit of the doubt and let him come back and come back to training like usual.
"If there's bridges to cross, we can worry about that later on.
"But at the moment we should just give him the space he needs, allow him to come back and get ready for the game this week."
News Corp reported on Tuesday that Radradra has been offered $463,860 a season to join Bordeaux, with the French tax rate meaning only eight per cent of that would be deducted.
By comparison, Radradra loses 46 per cent of his reported $375,000 NRL salary to tax.
It is believed the 24-year-old was one of three wingers offered a deal by Bordeaux at the start of the season, however the other two have since accepted jobs elsewhere.
The offer is still on the table and the rugby club are said to be happy for Radradra to see out the 2016 NRL season before joining them.
The marathon French rugby Top 14 season finished last weekend but the next season starts in August, meaning Radradra would miss Bordeaux's pre-season and early matches if he was to do that.
