Canberra have reportedly signed Gold Coast five-eighth Aidan Sezer to a big-money NRL deal from next season.

According to News Corp Australia, the move is worth $1.5 million over three years.

Fairfax Media is reporting the Raiders are set to announce the signing as early as Friday, clouding the future of young playmaker Mitch Cornish.

Sezer, 23, is viewed as a long-term halves partner for Blake Austin, who moved Canberra this season from the Wests Tigers.

Sezer made his NRL debut with the Titans in 2012 after joining from Canterbury where he had starred in the under-20s competition.

The Raiders on Wednesday announced the signing of England representative forward Elliott Whitehead for 2016.

Sezer has played 58 NRL games, representing the Indigenous All Stars and Prime Minister's XIII in 2013.

The Titans have signed Australian and Queensland halfback Daly Cherry-Evans for next season and Manly had been chasing Sezer's signature as a potential replacement.
