Rain delays New Zealand-Sri Lanka T20

Bad weather has delayed the start of a Twenty20 between New Zealand and Sri Lanka at Pallekele International Stadium.

Heavy rain has delayed the start of the first Twenty20 international between New Zealand and Sri Lanka in Pallekele.

The stands were empty at the Pallekele International Stadium on Tuesday as bad weather ensured the covers were still in place at the scheduled toss time of 6.30pm.

The second match is also scheduled to be played in Pallekele on Thursday.

The preceding one-day series was shared 1-1 with one match rained off.
