Raines calls time on AFL career

Gold Coast veteran Andrew Raines has retired, ending an AFL career that spanned three clubs and 129 games.

The AFL career of Andrew Raines has come to an end, with the Gold Coast veteran announcing his retirement.

The 29-year-old, who spent time at Richmond and Brisbane before joining the Suns 12 months ago, walks away after 129 games in the AFL since debuting for the Tigers in 2004.

Raines, who injured his posterior cruciate ligament earlier this year, only managed six AFL matches in his one season with the Suns.
