Rallies held in France to remember attack victims

More than a million people, including world leaders, have taken part in a unity march in Paris paying tribute to the 17 people killed in three days of violence by Islamist extremists.

More than a million people, including world leaders, have taken part in a unity march in Paris paying tribute to the 17 people killed in three days of violence by Islamist extremists.

It followed earlier rallies across France in honour of the victims.

Thousands of police and troops were deployed to beef up security ahead of the march.

SBS Europe Correspondent Brett Mason is in Paris and he's speaking with Peggy Giakoumelos.
