Rami Malek will play Queen singer Freddie Mercury in the long-awaited biopic Bohemian Rhapsody.
Director Brian Singer confirmed the news on Instagram on Friday.
The project has been trying to get off the ground for some time, with Borat star Sacha Baron Cohen at one point set to play Mercury.
Original Queen bandmembers Brian May and Roger Taylor will serve as music producers.
Malek, 35, recently won the best actor Emmy for the hit cyber series Mr. Robot.
