Former Indianapolis Colts linebacker Josh McNary is about to stand trial for rape following an alleged attack on a woman he met in a bar in December.

The rape trial of former Indianapolis Colts linebacker Josh McNary is set to begin in the United States.

The Indianapolis Star and WISH-TV report the trial of 27-year-old McNary is scheduled to start on Monday in Indianapolis.

He's charged with rape, criminal confinement and battery in an attack on a woman in December.

Court records state the woman met her attacker at a bar and went back to an apartment where she says he raped her.

According to the newspaper, she grabbed a mobile phone as she left the apartment and police traced the phone to McNary.

McNary has pleaded not guilty.

He was arrested in January and placed on a list by the Colts that made him ineligible for practice or games.

It's reported his contract expired in March.
