Long-serving Warriors prop Sam Rapira will play for English side Huddersfield in the Super League next year.

Rapira announced in March he would leave the NRL at the end of the season to link up with a Super League club that hadn't been confirmed.

That club will be Huddersfield, who have secured the former Kiwi international on a two-year deal.

Rapira, 28, will join the Giants for pre-season training in mid-November after completing his 10th year with the Warriors.

"I decided to sign up with the Giants because I've heard positive things about the club and they have shown a lot of enthusiasm in getting me over there," he told the Huddersfield website.

"The thought of moving to the other side of the world with our two daughters is a bit daunting but our friends and family have been supportive throughout this process and we are excited to experience a new country and culture."

Huddersfield are fourth on the Super League table and coach Paul Anderson said Rapira's move was a great compliment to the club.

"He has played at the highest level throughout his career and to choose us to spend time with in the UK is great testament to what we have built up over the years here," Anderson said.

A hamstring injury has hindered Rapira, a 13-Test Kiwi and 2008 World Cup winner, this season and he has made just one appearance for the Warriors, taking his NRL tally to 170.
