Ray Martin courted by Hinch for Senate bid

Justice Party leader Derryn Hinch wants fellow journalist Ray Martin to lead the party's NSW Senate ticket at the next federal election.

Crossbench senator Derryn Hinch has launched a bid to recruit high-profile television journalist Ray Martin to lead his Justice Party's NSW Senate ticket.

Senator Hinch, who also had a long career as a journalist and broadcaster before entering politics, confirmed he was trying to reel in a big fish ahead of the May federal election.

"I'm also trying to get Ray Martin to run for the Justice Party at the next federal election. I'm trying hard," Senator Hinch told Sky News on Wednesday.
