Re-sign Moses, Brooks Benji tells Tigers

Benji Marshall has urged the Tigers to move quickly to re-sign young halves Luke Brooks and Mitchell Moses and distanced himself from a return to the club.

Benji Marshall has urged Wests Tigers to re-sign their star young halves Luke Brooks and Mitchell Moses as he distanced himself from a return to the NRL joint venture.

All three playmakers are free agents at season's end and their futures are the source of furious speculation.

Marshall said he would likely make a decision on his future over the coming month.

He has been linked to a return to the Tigers, with whom he won the 2005 premiership. However he advised the Tigers to move quickly to sign Moses and Brooks to secure the future of the club.

"It is funny because I haven't spoken to the Tigers, but I will never say never to anything," Marshall said on Thursday.

"It sounds like a fairytale to some people but If I was the Tigers I would be locking in those young blokes they have there and building the club around them.

"Mitchell Moses and Luke Brooks have two of the brightest futures in the NRL. They are two blokes you could definitely build a team around."

Marshall is in his 15th season of the NRL, having played 241 games with the Tigers and the Dragons.

He is keen to play on in 2017 with the Dragons, who he joined in 2014 after an ill-fated stint in rugby union.

"I am just going to play footy until about round five or round six and worry about it then," Marshall said.

"I am not sure what will happen. I am just trying to play good footy. I feel like I am heading in the right direction.

"Hopefully my future is at the Dragons but if it is not I will look at it at that point."
