Real subs jobs boost not in France: Pyne

Cabinet minister Christopher Pyne has dismissed reports the submarines contract will result in a bigger jobs boost for France than Australia.

Cabinet minister Christopher Pyne denies France will be the bigger winner in jobs from the federal government's $50 billion submarines contract.

He's dismissed as "quite wrong" French media reports stating it would create 4000 jobs in France, much more than the 2800 slated in Adelaide.

Mr Pyne told ABC radio on Wednesday the figure was about "mobilising existing jobs" in France and less than 10 per cent of work will be undertaken there.

"All 12 submarines will be built in Adelaide - from the first to the 12th," he said.

Australian workers would also be given training in France on how to build the submarines.
