Melbourne Rebels coach Tony McGahan says there's no limit on what Fijian flyer Sefanaia Naivalu can achieve after signing with the Super Rugby club until the end of the 2017 season.
"Super Sefa", as he has become known, has had a meteoric rise after arriving from a Fijian island to play in the local Melbourne competition in 2014.
Naivalu has played in all of the Rebels' game this season and has bagged four tries, while across town his former junior teammate, Marika Koroibete, is setting the Melbourne Storm alight in similar style.
"The progression and improvement is certainly impressive," McGahan said of Naivalu.
"I honestly didn't think it was possible to move up as quickly as he's done.
"We've got high hopes ... we think if Sefa continues to show what he's done and his appetite for learning continues I don't think there's any limits of what he can do."
Naivalu, 23, said he didn't think of looking to play elsewhere and is setting his sights on one day playing for the Wallabies.
"This is a great opportunity for me, and I am so excited to re-sign in Melbourne, he said.
"I didn't want to go anywhere else.
"Melbourne feels like home to me now, and I actually prefer the cold weather here to the hot weather in Fiji."
On Saturday night at AAMI Park the Rebels host the fourth-placed Chiefs, who overcame the Western Force last round.
Melbourne were gallant 18-16 losers to defending champions NSW in Sydney.
McGahan rated the Chiefs as one of the form teams of the Super Rugby competition.
"It's going to be extremely tough for us," he said.
"They're a really well rounded side; their set piece is strong, defence is fantastic and attack is quite spectacular at time so we're going to have our work cut out for us."
