Recall as valium packs tampered with

All valium tablets sold in Australia have been recalled because of suspected tampering, the Therapeutic Goods Administration says.

Packs of valium, marketed as Valpam 5, have been recalled country-wide by the Therapeutic Goods Administration after concerns the drug was tampered with in the factory.

Pharmaceutical company Arrow Pharma Pty Ltd is recalling batches of Valpam 5 tablets sold in blister packs of 50 tablets as a precaution because some packs contained an blood pressure medication instead of the valium.

All pharmacists across the country were notified and the issue was reported to police, with customers advised to return any affected packs to the pharmacy of purchase.
