Red Cross seeks biggest-ever funding boost

The Red Cross is seeking the equivalent of more than AUD $2 billion to cope with the mounting global need for humanitarian assistance.

The aid agency says ongoing crises in areas such as Iraq, Syria and Democratic Republic of the Congo are straining its resources.

Andrea Nierhoff is speaking to the head of the ICRC Australia, Leonard Blazeby, about what this record amount of money could do.
