Red tape cut for international students

Universities will have less paperwork to do when bringing in international students under new laws parliament is considering.

Universities will find it easier to attract international students to Australia with moves to cut red tape.

The changes, a year in the making and put to parliament on Thursday, will reduce duplication in reporting requirements associated with international students, Education Minister Christopher Pyne said.

Universities says it will allow them to better focus resources on education and research.
