Brisbane midfielder Jack Redden has signed a new two-year deal with the Lions, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2016 AFL season.

Redden, 24, joins teammate Sam Mayes in signing a new deal to stay at the Gabba after 2012 draftee Mayes also signed on until the end of 2016 last week.

Pick No.25 in the 2008 draft, South Australia product Redden said the arrival of new coach Justin Leppitsch had him excited that successful days were ahead for the Lions.

"I have been at the club for six years now and I am really excited about the direction we are heading," Redden said.

"Leppa has brought fresh eyes to the club, and I am relishing the opportunity to learn under him."

Redden has played 98 consecutive games since debuting for the Lions in 2009 and ended 2013 with the fourth-most tackles (147) in the AFL.
