Veteran Australian actor Reg Livermore is coming out of retirement to play the Wizard of Oz in the Broadway musical Wicked.
Theatre producer John Frost announced on Wednesday the 75-year-old performer would be starring in the Sydney and Melbourne seasons of the hit broadway production.
"I am thrilled Reg will be starring in the role of the Wizard.
"It is a complex and challenging role that has lured him back to the musical theatre stage," he said.
The musical begins at the Regent Theatre on May 7.
