Human remains found in the search for a couple missing in remote Western Australia have been confirmed as belonging to the husband.

Raymond and Jennie Kehlet, 47 and 49, had not been seen since they were prospecting in the Table Top area in the state's Mid West region on March 22.

The alarm was raised more than a week later when their dog wandered into the Sandstone caravan park, about 25km from their campsite.

Earlier this month, searchers found human remains at the bottom of a disused mine shaft.

On Friday, police said they were those of Mr Kehlet.

Family members have been notified.
