Two bones, believed to be human, have been discovered at an Adelaide golf club.

Police have begun a thorough search of the West Beach Golf Club, where a bone was discovered last Saturday.

A second bone was discovered on Friday.

Forensic officers are trying to determine the age, height and sex of the person.

It is unclear if the bones are historic in nature or from a more recent time.

"The area is under development and it is possible during the movement of earth the bones have been disturbed," police said.
