Mark Cavendish is to be reunited with his favoured leadout man after Omega Pharma-QuickStep on Monday announced the signing of Australian Mark Renshaw.
Renshaw piloted Cavendish at HTC-Highroad and to many of the Briton's Tour de France stage wins and his signing was announced on the same day the Belgian squad revealed it had recruited Colombian climber Rigoberto Uran from Team Sky.
Both riders have signed two-year deals.
Renshaw, who has been racing with Dutch squad Belkin, formerly known as Rabobank and Blanco, since HTC-Highroad's demise, was Cavendish's leadout man for three years from 2009 to 2011.
"I'm delighted to be joining Omega Pharma-QuickStep next year," Renshaw said. "It is one of the best teams in the world which I am looking forward to be a part of.
"Of course, after a couple of years apart, riding on the same team as my good friend Mark Cavendish again is something I am going to enjoy.
"It will be great returning to leadout duty's fighting for victories with Cav. Hopefully we will celebrate many wins with him and the rest of the team."
