Companies have responded to the terrorist attacks in Paris with overwhelming support, offering friends and family of the victims various services.

RESPONSES TO PARIS TERRORIST ATTACKS

COMMUNICATION

* Facebook "Safety Check" tool used to tag oneself safe - within 24 hours 4.1 million people marked safe

* Within 24 hours 360 million people were notified of a family or friend's safety

* Telstra offers free standard calls and texts made from paid mobiles and fixed lines to France for one week. Also to Lebanon following two suicide bombings in Beirut

* Refunds for calls and texts for pre-paid phones

AIRLINES

* Qantas customers can rebook, change destinations or retain credit of a ticket, for week 14-20 Nov

* Emirates passengers travelling to Paris can change their flight destinations

ACCOMMODATION

* Airbnb service fees waived for those checking in between 13-17 Nov

* Paris hosts asked to make listings at little or no cost, and to extended home stays for free if guests experience travel delays
