Australian retail spending rose 0.8 per cent in September, official figures show.
Retail trade in the month rose to a seasonally adjusted $22.146 billion, compared to $21.976 billion in August, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said on Monday.
Economists had been forecasting a rise of 0.4 per cent for the September.
Over the September quarter, retail sales rose by 0.7 per cent to $65.474 billion in seasonally adjusted volume terms.
