Retail trade rose 0.8% in Sept

The Australian Bureau of Statistics has released retail trade data for September.

Australian retail spending rose 0.8 per cent in September, official figures show.

Retail trade in the month rose to a seasonally adjusted $22.146 billion, compared to $21.976 billion in August, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said on Monday.

Economists had been forecasting a rise of 0.4 per cent for the September.

Over the September quarter, retail sales rose by 0.7 per cent to $65.474 billion in seasonally adjusted volume terms.
