Josh Reynolds is facing the heartbreak of missing the second State of Origin clash in three weeks' time after being slugged with a grade two dangerous throw in NSW's 12-8 win over Queensland.
The Blues five-eighth was placed on report in the first half after lifting and flipping Maroons winger Brent Tate onto his back.
Beau Scott, who was also part of the tackle, was hit with a grade one charge and will be free from suspension should he take the early guilty plea.
Reynolds will accrue 243 points if he pleads guilty and with Canterbury having a bye this weekend he would miss the second game at ANZ Stadium on June 18.
The Bulldogs have until 12pm on Thursday to submit a plea and should they opt to seek a downgrade then he would appear before the NRL judiciary at 6pm that evening.
If he fails then he would sit out three games.
