Reynolds will change Wests culture: Cleary

Wests Tigers coach Ivan Cleary is adamant Josh Reynolds' signing will have a positive impact on the NRL club's culture.

Wests Tigers coach Ivan Cleary has hailed the signing of Josh Reynolds for next season, saying the Canterbury five-eighth would change the club's culture.

Just days after luring Ben Matulino from the Warriors, Cleary landed his second big fish of the week when the club announced it had secured Reynolds on a four-year deal from 2018.

"It's pretty obvious what Josh can bring to the club," Cleary said on Friday.

"I guess the main thing is there's not too often you can get a player that can have a significant impact on positive culture. I think he can certainly do that.

"Obviously that's for next year. We've all got our own immediate concerns, but certainly it's positive news for the club."

Bulldogs coach Des Hasler also opened up on the impending exit of the popular local junior, admitting it had been an emotional week at the club.

"It's been a tough couple of days, but I'm still very proud of the way the young man's handled it and his commitment," Hasler said.

"I think you'll find the offer that the Tigers made blew everything out of the order.

"At the end of the day, you weigh it up. And it was, not life-changing situation, but it became very important part for Josh. I think that made the decision that much harder."

Cleary however was reluctant to address ongoing speculation five-eighth Mitchell Moses has requested another release to join Parramatta mid-season.

While it is believed the club would grant him a release should they be compensated, Cleary expects Moses to remain at Concord until the end of the season.

"I'd rather keep personal conversations personal but Mitchell has been completely focused on the job at hand," Cleary said.

"I think his performances on the training paddock and in games have mirrored that and at the end of the day, that's all we look for."
