Daniel Ricciardo will be looking to claim four straight podiums for the first time in his Formula One career at the Italian Grand Prix.
To achieve that feat the Australian will need to finish in the top three at Monza for the first time in five attempts at the track, when he hits the track this weekend.
Ricciardo enters the Italian Grand Prix with a heap of confidence, having finished second at Sunday's Belgium Grand Prix, where he split the championship-leading silver arrows of Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton.
"Coming off a good one in Belgium, I'm pretty pumped we're racing again this weekend," Ricciardo wrote in his regular Red Bull column.
The result has left him 23 points clear of Sebastian Vettel in third on the drivers' championship, significant given the extreme advantage both Hamilton and Rosberg hold over the rest of the field.
Ricciardo has only once before stepped foot on the podium in three straight races, during his personal best 2014 season, and despite his less-than-ideal record, he now believes Monza suits his style of driving.
"There's something about circuits like Spa, like Monza, that does it for me," he wrote.
"In terms of circuit safety and risk versus reward, I'm always up for the ballsy circuits, the old-school tracks."
The Italian Grand Prix also has significant meaning to Ricciardo given his father was born in the country before moving to Australia at age seven.
And with no Italian drivers currently on the F1 grid, he has been adopted by the country in recent years as one of their own come race weekend.
"I've always had a pretty good reception when I get to Monza," he said.
"I'll do a few more interviews in Italian over the course of the weekend and it's one of the closest races to where I live, so with my family background and everything, I'd be lying if I said I didn't feel more part of it than other places we go to."
Meanwhile the race is likely to give Hamilton the chance to extend his lead at the top of the championship given he has won the previous two Italian GPs, and three of the past four held at Monza.
Rosberg, who is now nine points behind Hamilton, has not won at the track, with his best result being a second in 2014.
