Richmond have taken first-round AFL draft picks Nick Vlastuin and Corey Ellis off the trade market with new deals.

Vlastuin and Ellis were to come out of contract at the end of this season.

But the Tigers announced on Wednesday they had re-signed Vlastuin for three seasons, while Ellis has a two-year extension.

"We're really pleased with the ongoing development of both Nick and Corey," Tigers football manager Dan Richardson said.

"It's been great to see Nick spend some time in the midfield recently, and for a second-year player Corey has been very composed and consistent in the backline this season."

Richmond recruited Vlastuin with pick No.9 in the 2012 national draft and Ellis joined them two years later with the No.12 draft selection.

Vlastuin, 22, has played 69 senior games since his 2013 debut.

Ellis, 19, debuted last season and has played 15 AFL matches.

Meanwhile, Sydney have also announced a new deal for first-year player George Hewett.

The 20-year-old defender made his debut in round one this season after the Swans recruited him with pick 32 in the 2013 draft.

Hewett has played nine games and the Swans have re-signed him for two seasons until the end of 2018.
