Olympic organisers will meet their deadline to deliver Rio's Games - but it will go down to the wire, Australian Olympic Committee president John Coates says.
Coates, also an International Olympic Committee vice-president, has expressed concern in the past about tight infrastructure deadlines.
But Coates was content with progress in the Brazilian city, a year out from the opening of the Games.
"It will be down to the wire but it will be delivered," Coates told AAP on Wednesday.
Coates hosted an appeal dinner for the Australian team in Sydney on Wednesday night, with funding targets on track for the Rio Games.
"We have come a long way from 1952 when you had to raise your own money, 35 years ago when we passed the hat around in a few pubs to get the team to Moscow," Coates said.
