Thinking of sending a text message to loved ones rather than a card this Christmas?
You're not alone.
Research suggests almost half of Britons will text their festive greetings this year instead of sending a card.
Ninety four per cent of those surveyed by Samsung UK said they were planning to use alternative methods of saying "Merry Christmas" this year.
Although SMS is the most popular alternative, 24 per cent say they'll use email and another 24 per cent mentioned Facebook and Twitter.
More than a third of respondents said they were now using texts to send birthday wishes, while one in five had used it to announce their engagement.
At the other end of the spectrum, 12 per cent said they had used it to end a relationship.
